The C8 is the eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette and a landmark for the model: the first production Corvette with a rear mid-engine layout, ending the front-engine configuration that had defined every Corvette since 1953. The change reset the car's proportions and dynamics while keeping its value-focused performance ethos.
The base Stingray uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT2 V8 making 490 hp, or 495 hp with the performance exhaust, driving through an 8-speed Tremec dual-clutch transmission with no manual offered. So equipped with the Z51 package, it reaches 60 mph in roughly 2.9 seconds.
The lineup expands with the 670 hp, 5.5-liter flat-plane Z06, the hybrid all-wheel-drive E-Ray with 655 combined hp, and the twin-turbocharged ZR1 producing 1,064 hp.
