The Nissan Z is a line of affordable sports cars stretching back to October 1969 and spanning seven generations: the 240Z/260Z/280Z, the 280ZX, two generations of 300ZX, the 350Z, the 370Z, and the current Z. The original Datsun 240Z sold over 45,000 units through 1971 and established the model's reputation for looks, reliability, performance, and value, championed by Nissan USA president Yutaka Katayama's belief in an affordable international sports car.

The current RZ34 generation, launched in 2022, is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter VR30DDTT V6 producing 406 PS (400 hp) and 350 lb-ft of torque, with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic.

The 2023 model was notable as the first Z car sold without a number in its name, continuing the lineage's decades-long role as a cornerstone of Nissan's accessible-performance identity.
