The revived Toyota Supra ran from 2019 to 2026 with two engines, a late-arriving manual, and a string of special editions. What to know before you shop.
The Toyota GR Supra’s 2019–2026 run[1] produced a market with real variety in it, and the choices a buyer makes up front — engine, gearbox, edition — shape both the ownership experience and the resale story. Here is the map.
Engine first
Two engines defined the range. The 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four made 194–255 hp depending on version[1]. The 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six — BMW’s B58 — started at 335 hp and later rose to 382 hp with 499 N⋅m of torque[1]. The performance gap is meaningful: Car and Driver recorded 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds for the 3.0-litre car[1], against 4.7 seconds for the 2.0[1]. The six is the Supra most buyers picture; the four is the lighter-duty entry point.
Gearbox second
An 8-speed ZF automatic was standard from launch, and a 6-speed manual joined the six-cylinder model in 2022[1]. Manual cars arrived late in the run, which makes them the scarcer configuration — if three pedals matter to you, expect to search harder and to compete with other buyers who feel the same way. The automatic, for its part, was the only choice for most of the car’s life, so it dominates the used pool and gives you far more room to be selective on condition.
Editions, then the checks
The run carried a string of special editions: Launch Edition, A91 Edition, A91-CF Edition, A91-MT Edition, 45th Anniversary Edition, and the Final Edition[1]. As with any limited car, verify the edition against documentation rather than badges. Beyond that, the discipline is standard:
- Service history. Complete records, ideally from franchise or specialist workshops.
- Pre-purchase inspection. An independent PPI on a lift before any transfer of funds.
- Usage honesty. Sports cars get driven hard. That is fine — undocumented hard use is not. Let the inspection tell you which one you are looking at.
For reference, the car launched in the US at $49,990 in 2019[1] — useful context when weighing today’s asking prices. Get the full variant detail on the full Toyota GR Supra database page, then browse live GR Supra listings to see what the market holds.
