The Mercedes-AMG GT is a two-door sports car unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the second car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG. It uses a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout built around AMG's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, a "hot inside V" design that places the turbochargers between the cylinder banks to sharpen throttle response.

Output climbed steadily across the range, from 462 PS in the base GT to 510 PS in the GT S and 585 PS in the track-focused GT R, which reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and tops out at 319 km/h. The first-generation peak was the GT Black Series at 730 PS.

Variants included the wider, rear-steering GT C, the hardcore GT R Pro, and the Black Series built from 2021 to 2023. A racing family spanned GT3, GT4, and GT2 cars. A second generation arrived for 2024 on the SL platform with 2+2 seating.
